Mr Tokyo Japanese: Experience the Freshness of Authentic Sushi in Chapel Hill

Mr Tokyo is not my favorite choice for all you can eat sushi, but the price is unbeatable and there are a couple of gems on the menu. I specifically really like the jalapeno yellowtail dish, and I'm a huge fan of the fried noodles. The fish isn't the best quality, it tastes fine but I've definitely had higher quality sushi. But the rolls aren't bad and I can eat a lot.

This restaurant is great. The food is delicious, the pricing structure for all you can eat - made to order sushi is brilliant. Very good value for people with larger appetites. Staff is kind, efficient and the ordering process is smooth. The only draw back to Mr Tokyo is how successful the restaurant is. This restaurant can be an absolute nightmare around dinner time due to it's popularity and limited dining space. This restaurant stays completely packed from 4pm - Close, with wait times often reaching 45 minutes - to an hour. It is long past time for this restaurant to expand to a larger location with more room to accommodate more patrons at peak hours and more room to upscale the decor providing a better atmosphere. Opening a second location would be an equally good option to consider if expansion isn't a possibility.

I've never gotten a bad meal here. They're always busy for good reason. Just understand the protocol and you'll be fine. 1. All members of the party need to be present before being seated. 2. If you order way more than you can eat while you're there, you gotta pay (either to toss it there or take it home so just take it home or better yet, only order what you know you can reasonably finish. No wasting food!) Order your first round, then if you're still hungry, get more. 3. They close between 3-4 each afternoon and the dinner menu is slightly different from the lunch menu. 4. Eat at your own pace, but don't dilly dally for too long after finishing. They expect to turn tables at a reasonable pace, and if you're camping out while other people are waiting on a table, that's not cool. I bring these things up because I once witnessed a woman going ballistic on the manager (possibly owner?) because she expected to be seated before her party arrived, even though it clearly states y'all gotta be there together right on the door. They run a tight ship, but the food is delicious and the price, especially for what you can get is incredible. The Carolina roll and the gyoza are my absolute favorite menu items, but it's all fantastic. Service is super quick. I did say there is "plenty of parking" because technically there is. But it's in a busy strip mall and if you want to park near the restaurant, you may need to circle a few times. I just usually head down towards Food Lion and walk a bit.

Wow I mean wow. No words. Best sushi ever best hibachi ever so fresh so juicy so sweet and salty! Yessss came with my hubby son and daughter and we loved it! Def coming back again

It’s just the best place to get sushi in the triangle. The service is always amazing, incredibly pleasant and attentive. The food is spectacular, very fresh and flavorful. I can’t say enough good things about Mr. Tokyo Give them a try you won’t regret it

Delicious Sushi and Edamame. This place can get very packed very fast since due to capacity so plan accordingly. Nevertheless its got some of the best sushi in the area and I cant wait to go back. The edamame was yummy also.

For the price, this place is absolutely amazing. The lunch special here is so good. This is definetly a golden find. Staff was amazing and super nice. Only issue was the wait time. But definitely worth the wait.

Sushi was ok. I like the Teriyaki steak. Good price. You have a 90 minutes limit and they will charge if you cant finish your food so dont order too much.
